Post Graduate Retreat School: Call for application
The Post Graduate Retreat School (typically called Summer School) is a long-running tradition of the International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC). The Post Graduate Retreat School has provided doctoral students around the world a special opportunity to present their research and get feedback from a panel of experts in a very open yet challenging forum. Postgraduate students from Industry and Academia in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry and related fields are invited to submit extended abstracts on Lean Construction research and applications for presentation at the IGLC32 in Auckland, New Zealand.
In 2024, a group of 10 students will get 15 minutes to present their work in a structured way, followed by 15 minutes of discussion. Help will be available for those who want to fine-tune their research methods or refine their problem statement. In addition to those students presenting their work (called presenters), there will also be an opportunity for eligible students to attend the event and be part of the discussion (called listeners), either as early-stage researchers or experienced ones who have already been to a summer school.
Eligibility
All postgraduate students (master’s and doctoral) are eligible to apply to present their work or attend the Post Graduate Retreat School as observers. However, preference will be given to the participation of doctoral students in case of reaching the maximum number of participants. In order to be accepted, all students (presenters and listeners) should apply using the application forms. The number of places will be limited, and applicants will be shortlisted by the expert panel.

• Extended abstract deadline submission for presenters: 15 April 2024
• Provisional acceptance of presenters and comments from reviewers: 1 May 2024
• Final acceptance of presenters: 15 May 2024
• Registration deadline for presenters: 31 April 2024
• Listeners deadline registration: 15 June 2024
• Presentation submission deadline: 23 June 2024
• PG Retreat School: 6 & 7 July 2024

The deans will select and notify the students, providing instructions for the presentation. For students selected to present their work (presenters), the Post Graduate Retreat School is free of charge (excluding accommodation and travel costs).
